I would like to welcome visitors to this, the internet home of Latin Scrabble, as we play it at the Centre for Medieval Studies of the University of Toronto. For the past several years, this has been a part of life at the Centre, and we currently meet most Fridays to play.
Using a custom tile-set, we play Scrabble on regulation boards in the conventional way, but with the expanded morphological range of Latin, which makes for exciting play and high scores while simultaneously leveling the field between novice and experienced players somewhat. Gerunds, Gerundives, and Passive Constructions allow for frequent use of all seven tiles (a 50-point bonus), creating an explosive experience.
