Ethiopian Manuscript Production: Practices and Contexts

My dissertation uses Ethnoarchaeological methods to complement and contextualize the archaeological and historical sources in order to document the Ethiopian tradition of bookmaking, the last continuous tradition of traditional Christian manuscript production in the world.

Exhibits

Online Exhibit: Ethiopic Manuscript Production

The companion website to my exhibit on Ethiopian manuscript production at the John M. Kelly Library at the University of St. Michael's College in the University of Toronto. It features some of the items I collected as part of my Fulbright project, Ethiopic Manuscript Culture and its European Analogues (2008-2009) and highlights my work on the history and scribal practices of Christendom's last continuous craftsmanly tradition of manuscript production.

Websites

Ludus Scrabularum apud Centrum Studiorum Mediaevalium Universitatis Torontonensis

I enjoy playing Scrabble in Latin by the Toronto Rules, and many years ago put up a web site in order to share the past-time with the community. Have a look.

Sutro Sam

A short video I shot and edited, featuring San Francisco's only resident river otter, Sutro Sam.
